More beggars than the worshippers were seen at Maisthan Temple, one of the most famous Durga temples of Birgunj, on the occasion of Maghe Sankranti 2020. People celebrate the first of Magh month of Hindu calendar with pomp and show. They also visit temples and donate food, money, rice, etc. to the beggars. With the introduction of Traffic Volunteers in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, the traffic management has been easy to some extent. During the office hours, vehicular movement is at a very slow pace because of the increase in number of means of transportation. Higher level school children have been deployed along with the traffic police in order to facilitate the traffic management. Dharara trying to stand again: Dipendra Kanu
Dharahara, also called Bhimsen Tower, was a nine-storey, 61.88-metre-tall tower at the center of Sundhara in Kathmandu. It was built in 1832 by Mukhtiyar Bhimsen Thapa under the commission of Queen Lalit Tripura Sundari and was a part of the architecture of Kathmandu recognized by UNESCO. The iconic tower is being reconstructed at the cost of Rs 3.45 billion. The tower was destroyed in the great earthquake of 1934 and was later rebuilt.
