Consulate General of India (CGI), Birgunj has organized a bicycle rally today (Saturday) in Birgunj as a part of celebration of special week under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav starting from today only as stated in the press release.
Consul General, Nitesh Kumar, flagged off the rally at 7 am. Around 60 people comprising the members of the Consulate, local representatives, officials of District Administration of Parsa, Nepal Police, Nepal SBI Bank, local industries and business houses, cycling club of Birgunj and Bara and Civil Society at large participated in the rally.
The rally started from the Consulate and followed a route of sixteen kilometers passing through the main gate of Integrated Check Post on Indo-Nepal border, Ghantaghar and Adarsh Nagar in the City and culminated at the Consulate again.
Apart from emphasizing physical fitness, building endurance and promoting good health among the participants, the rally aimed at enthusing bonhomie among the people of India and Nepal and strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.
Likewise, CGI, Birgunj also organized “Open House for Consular Grievances” in the premises of the Consulate today (Saturday). The Open House was chaired by Consul General Nitesh Kumar. The purpose of the event was to redress the non-routine grievances of the aggrieved Indian nationals living in Nepal. Grievances of around thirty Indians working in the factories of Parsa and Bara were redressed during the program.
CGI has also called for open registration for Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Quiz on www.akamquiz.in from 1st of December 2021 to 31st of January 2022 from NRIs, PIOs, and interested foreign nationals of age 16 to 35. The top 3 winners from each category will be awarded with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
